This is beautiful and I wish it was in a larger size. I need to finish the rest of the Ringworld series (unfortunately only read the namesake novel), and have read all of the Culture series. I'm rather fond of the Ringworld/Orbital concept.

Halo fans get really damn obnoxious with not being able to read descriptions, I've seen one actually argue with a Culture fan-artist that his Orbital was from Halo even after being told he was wrong.

That said it's definitely closer to a Culture Orbital in size, given the planet as a scale of comparison. ; )

Wow. Literally the only thing Helo-reminiscent in this is the fact that the world is a ring. That's it.

That being said, excellent painting (four years late).

Beautiful work. I had to take a bit of time to look at it to make sure I got the idea correctly. I love the transition between the night and day. Especially when you show how those giant figures being active at night and than buried in the sand during the day. The day part at first had me thinking of something like Easter Island due to seeing the giant heads. I didn't notice the feet sticking out at first. ^^; My eyes were drawn immediately to the heads

I like this one a lot. Wonderful colors

This is excellent! I love how you painted each of these. The style in which you painted them is awesome, it almost like a cartoonistic realism that works really well! :)

Also... Im a sucker for spacey scenes haha. Especially ones looking off of a planet, or in this case a landscape(i guess... i'd have to actually read the book to see how Larry Niven describes it.) But over all I love this!

It's great, because it reminds me how often we forget that this happens. Civilizations die, just when they think this is it, bam, all tumbles down.
Like when the old age came to an end, all that knowledge and art skill and science, lost for almost thousand years during the middle ages.

I've never actually read the book, but I would like to.

Very nice, I don't see how this would remind you of a video game, it's character is completely different. It reminds me of a sci fi movie or nover. I haven't read ringworld, I'll have to check it out...Great work

thank you, i don't even understand how some people get that idea it's from a videogame... the book is created 30 + years before the game, and the game intentionally mimicked the entire concept of a ring planet.
